Mariah Smith 1810- after 1874/before Nov 1886

Maria(h) has been one of my brick walls for 15 years.
She was born about 1810 in Massachusetts.
She married Reuben Parker in Stamford, Bennington, VT in May 1824.
She died sometime after she sold land in Chickasaw, Iowa in 1874, and before her son went into prison in Nov. 1886.

1850 census:  Stamford, Bennington, Vermont
1860 census:  Stamford, Bennington, Vermont

According to documents of her sons, the family left Vermont during the Civil War to get away from the war.  They lost one son in the war, and another was seriously injured.  They moved to Wisconsin, and then to Iowa.  Reuben moved back to Vermont and died there in 1870.  His will mentions his beloved wife Maria.  Maria and four children are in Chickasaw county Iowa in 1870.
I don't know what happened to Maria and her youngest child Ada or Adeline Parker after 1874.

Now for the back story.  In Stamford, Reuben and Maria lived next to or very near Lyman Harrington and his wife Polly Smith Harrington, who lived very near Asa and Molly Smith.  Asa is an older man and could be the father of Maria and Polly.  I believe he is the Asa Smith living in Clarksburg, MA in 1810 (which fits with Maria's birth place and time.)  I can't find any probate, land, or other records showing any relationships to any Smiths and Asa Smith except to his wife Molly.
Reuben and Maria are involved in several land transactions with Smiths from Adams, MA.- Noble W. Smith, Sedgewick Smith, Reuben Smith....I have studied these Smiths quite a bit.  From what I have found, the tree looks like this:

Nathan Smith b.1718    served in Rev War
|
Reuben Smith (his son) b. 1765 , married Willoughby Corliss, d.1829
|
Reuben Smith Jr. b.1794, mar. Olive Wescott, d.1876 -  Alpheus Smith b.1792, d.1871 - Orrin b.1793  (Reuben Jr, Alpheus, and Orrin are all sons of Reuben)

Reuben Smith Jr.'s son was Noble W. Smith b.1819, mar. Louisa Stanford
other sons of Reuben Jr. are Henry, Albert, and Arthur

Noble W. Smith had son Sedgwick b.1843 Adams, MA, mar. Cora, d.1922 Pownal, Vt

Nowhere in any of these people's documents is mention of Maria, Polly, or Asa.

Now, for another tangent:
The Bratton family also lived in the Clarksburg MA/ Stamford,VT area.  Edward Bratton married Reuben and Maria Parker's daughter Mary.  Edward Bratton's aunt Anna Bratton married a man named Doctor Smith.  (He wasn't a doctor, his name really was "Doctor") in Stamford in about 1805.
I can't figure out if Doctor Smith is somehow related to all these Smiths either.  But the Brattons were doing land transactions with our Adams, MA Smiths also.

Ok, and then there's Rhode Island.  The Parkers, and many other Rhode Island families, left Rhode Island during the British occupation during the Revolutionary War, and moved to western Massachusetts.  I find an Asa Smith living in Glocester, Providence, R.I. in 1790 and 1800, and he's of the age to be the same Asa in Clarksburg in 1810 and in Stamford, Vt. later on.  I plan to look for land records for Asa in R.I. AND.....according to various records, Polly Smith Harrington was born in Rhode Island.

Do I have enough evidence to say that Maria and Polly are daughters of Asa and Molly Smith?
